Maintaining A Log Splitter

FAQ

What oil do I need for my log splitter?

AW22 or 32 Hydraulic oil is recommended for the log splitter. Automatic transmission fluid can be substituted and should only be used instead of hydraulic oil when temperatures are below 32 degrees F.

Why is my log splitter moving slow?

The hydraulic system may be low on hydraulic oil, or the pump may be malfunctioning. Please consult the log splitter's owner’s manual for specific troubleshooting instructions.

Why won't my log splitter start?

The engine fuel tank may be empty, or the engine may be flooded. To find the specific cause, consult the troubleshooting section of the manual that came with your log splitter’s engine.

These tips are provided for general awareness and do not replace the Original Instruction Manual. Always read the Instruction Manual before operating or maintaining your machine.
