The Technical Services Department based in Portland, Oregon offers a Service School program in Cutting System Maintenance. If your organization uses chain saws and cutting system maintenance is a high priority, we would be pleased to present our program at your location.

We target a minimum of 25 participants for our Oregon® Service Schools and typically need about 3 hours to present the information. We use many types of visual aids including 10x models, videos, and PowerPoint slides. The program mostly covers cutting system maintenance including saw chain, guide bars, and drive sprockets but also covers accessories for Forestry products and basic chain saw safety. Please note: The Oregon® Service School program covers best practices in cutting system maintenance; it is not a course in chain saw safety.

If you are looking for a training program in Chain saw Safety and Operation we can help recommend some quality instructors.

Oregon® Dealers, please contact your local Distributor for technical training opportunities for Oregon® Forestry and Lawn & Garden products.

At the end of the program we administer a short quiz to the participants. Those who complete the quiz with a score of 70% or higher, are given a certificate of completion. This certificate is used by some organizations towards their safety training programs. This program is also recognized by the International Society of Arboriculture (I.S.A.) and participants with a current I.S.A. certification can earn three Continuing Education Units.

For our mechanical-timber-harvesting customers, Oregon offers a special service school focusing on products and maintenance for this market segment. Similar in scope and duration to our chain saw program, the harvester school concentrates on topics relevant to mechanical-timber-harvesting, such as chain grinding, Jet Fit® bars, chain tensioning, and chain shot.

We hope that you are interested in our service school program. Please call at 503-653-4449 to further discuss this opportunity and the timing and logistics to arrange for a school at your location. Generally we need two or three month's lead time to coordinate our resources.

If e-mail is more convenient, please complete the Service School request form and I will directly receive your information.

We look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
